CANADA DAY & MOVING DAY PROMOTIONS 

While the majority of Canada celebrates Canada Day on July 1st, French-Canadians around Quebec celebrate a holiday known as “Moving Day” (due to historical fixed-term leases). Over 200,000 individuals move yearly to new homes and apartments all at the same time.

These two holidays happening in tandem led to the creation of a dual promotion for Wayfair Canada, advertising Canada Day Sales geared toward the English-speaking demographic and Moving Day sales for the French-speaking demographic settling into their new homes.

Project Role: Art Director

Responsibilities: Oversaw and guided the creation of both “look & feels” for Canada Day & Moving Day Promotions, as well as promo marketing creative assets for digital channels.

Creative Approach

  • Utilizing illustration and motion, represent corresponding scenes for each holiday in a fun and engaging way

  • Focus on quick-hit representations of each holiday

  • Lean into the classic red of the Canadian flag and the historic blue of the Qubeciois flag in corresponding sale palettes

Marketing & Site Creative

  • Ensure promotionality along with clear and concise value props

  • Prioritize value props and product classes as hierarchy one across creative assets

  • Use illustration as a supporting creative element across deliverables where possible
